Hello, my name is Cenna.
I'm a St. Louis-based Designer with a background in fine arts. My design practice is rooted in the belief that form follows function, while leaving room for play and curiosity. I apply this by being drawn to the longevity of a logo, the decision making behind a brand that lasts, and the visual storytelling of it all.
I work on visual identity projects, anywhere from the first logo sketch to a fully launched website. My design philosophy starts from a conviction the industry doesn't always love: constraints are a starting point, not a destination. The work that ends up being interesting almost always comes from someone who understood the rules well enough to know which one was worth bending.
My favorite clients to work with are local businesses and nonprofits who are trying to build something their community can rally around. Community is a big part of how I show up outside of client work, too. I serve as co-chair of marketing at South Broadway Art Project, a place I volunteer my time to help uplift.
I also make small batch handmade ceramics in my studio, run my own brand, and vend at the Tower Grove Farmers Markets. Clay pulls me in for the same reason design does: both follow a journey of understanding your material, committing to a process, getting messy, and creating something timeless.
If you're interested in a custom ceramic commission, please fill out this form and I'll send you a follow up email for confirmation.
